PLAIO Call for contributions

In a special issue of PLAIO, we invite contributions from papers and presentations connected to the 5th VPL Biennale (6-8 May 2024). This special issue will include essays/materials exploring the four major themes of the conference People, validation and power: democracy in action?

  • Validation and the individual: democracy in action?
  • Validation and skills: democracy in action?
  • Validation and inclusion: democracy in action?
  • Validation and mobility: democracy in action?

We are interested in contributions that explore the role of VPL (or RPL/PLA/RVA/etc.) in any of these subthemes:

  • that critically examine VPL assessment tools;
  • that take up VPL in the academy, the workplace and in the community;
  • that help us understand the links between VPL, access and social justice; and
  • that propose approaches/innovations that advance VPL policies and practices worldwide.
