Coordination of validation and guidance.
Mariya Dzhengozova
In this session participants will hear of preliminary results of a Cedefop study.
The presentation focuses on the following research questions: a) what are the necessary conditions to ensure a successful integration between validation and guidance activities in practice; b) how can the coherence of the outcomes of guidance and validation be assured; c) What are the benefits of stronger coordination between the two services and what are the costs and problems.
These questions will be explored in accordance with the analytical and research framework developed within the project. Based on the framework as well as on the detailed case studies carried out (e.g. 13 practices from 12 countries: AT, CZ, FI, FR, IE, IT, IS, PL, PT, NL, SE and UK/Scotland) different models of linkage between career guidance and validation services will be presented and discussed. Distinctions between the models will be related to indicators such as need, context, target group, implementation of services, etc. The aim of the discussion will be to verify the models, further develop them as well as provide recommendations for successful integration/validation of career guidance and validation services.
