Göran Hellmalm
Introduction of the Validation Concept
Göran Hellmalm will present the validation concept that he has built up and managed for the Swedish Adult Education Association. The target groups for the validation concept are groups with low formal qualifications and sometimes lack of proper work experience. In the presentation Göran will talk about how to adapt the validation process to challenging target groups. He will also discuss how the third sector can play an important role in giving individuals access to validation. In the presentation Göran will give some examples of how third sector organizations can be more successful in reaching target groups than the public sector. Since 2014 the Swedish Adult Education Association has validated approximately 4500 individuals from challenging target groups. The work on validation that Göran has managed has been able to reach individuals that e.g. the formal education system, has not succeeded in establishing contact with. Some important aspects that Göran will point out in the presentation are: establish a proper system for quality assurance from the beginning of your project, establish a countious dialogue with stake holders and train the trainers.
